Ideas That Begin With
Real Questions.
Perspectives, observations and practical reflections on business, processes, leadership, technology, governance and the challenges organisations face as they grow and change.
Thinking Beyond the Obvious
When Process
Becomes the Pain.
When something created to help starts becoming the obstacle.
Processes are meant to create consistency, accountability and efficiency. But over time, a process can survive long after the reason it was originally created has disappeared.
This thought explores how organisations can identify practices that have become routine simply because “that is how things have always been done.”

Why It Matters
A consultant should not always have to wait for the client to identify the problem.
The ability to recognise emerging challenges, anticipate potential roadblocks and bring relevant intelligence into a discussion can help organisations make better decisions earlier.
When Process
Becomes the Pain!
Real experiences. Honest reflections. Lessons from organisations where the process slowly became more important than the purpose.
A Book Built From Experience, Not Generic Theory.
This forthcoming work will explore how well-intentioned processes, controls, traditions and hierarchies can gradually become obstacles to progress.
Each chapter will begin with an anecdote or real-world observation, followed by reflection, inference, lessons and the important process of unlearning — while protecting the confidentiality of people and organisations.
The book will also explore themes such as leadership, ego, hierarchy, democratic decision-making, resistance to change and the need to occasionally ask a simple but uncomfortable question:
“Why are we still doing this?”
“Thought leadership is not about having the loudest opinion. It is about helping people see something differently.”
